Kate

Kate Hudson 11 weeks old loves to play and cuddle. She is kennel trained and can sit. It's working on walking in commands. She uses potty pads and we're working on house training with the weather this week. She is ready for her forever home. She plays well with other dogs and little children and is ready for her forever home. She is a Kansas rescue and a Corgi terrier

Ivory

Meet Ivory!! Ivory is an approx 6mo old shepherd mix. She was abandoned very young with her siblings and thankfully found her way to rescue. Ivory is good with other dogs and cats. She is great with kids but still a bit shy of adults until she gets to know you. She will need a home with patience and understanding. Raised voices scare her and she does not do well with them. She is kennel trained and house trained. She will need some work with a leash but is doing really well learning. Shes a bright little girl who loves her spa days. Ivory is fully vetted and ready for adoption. Don't let the picture fool you, She's under 45lbs.

hAZEL

Hazel says Hi!!! Hazel is an approx 4mo old shepherd mix whose ready for her forever!! Shes good with other dogs and would really really like it if her new home had a canine friend for her. Shes working on her confidence and other dogs help her with that so much! Hazel is hiuse trained and kennel trained. Leashes are still new but she's working on it and she really just wants to be loved. Are you ready to add Hazel to your pack? She's ready for it!

Cowboy

Meet Cowboy! Cowboy is a goofy 8 week old aussie mix who absolutely loves playing as much as he loves cuddles. He's good with other dogs and loves everyone he's met so far. Cowboy is working hard on house training, kennel training and all the puppy things. He's available for foster to adopt (adoption on contract) to finish his vetting.

Tia

Tia got her first groom last Friday and did great! This special girl has come so far since joining rescue. Tia is a 10yr old Maltese mix who was surrendered from a puppy mill back in November. Shes been working in her socializing and learning what a house is. Tia is not your typical dog. She does well with puppy pads and does enjoy her outside time. Tia is still learning that humans are ok. And we don't blame her. When you spend the first 10yrs of your life in a puppy mill; it changes you. Thankfully her puppy having days are over. Tia is fully vetted. She will require a calm home with understanding people who get that shes not a lap dog. Her family will need to understand that she has to take things at her pace. Her kennel is her safe spot. She loves to watch her foster siblings and resident dogs from the comfort of her doggy bed in the safety of her kennel. She's been thru somethings and patience is the key with her. Her trust cant be rushed, it has to be earned. She would do best with another dog her size for a companion that she can learn from. She maybe older but she deserves to live the rest of her life in comfort and safety. With unconditional love, patience and understanding.

Jade

Meet Jade!! Jade is an approx 6mo old shepherd mix. She was abandoned very young with her siblings and thankfully found her way to rescue. Jade is good with other dogs and cats. She is great with kids but still a bit shy of adults until she gets to know you. She will need a home with patience and understanding. Raised voices scare her and she does not do well with them. She is kennel trained and house trained. She will need some work with a leash but is doing really well learning. Shes a bright little girl! Don't let her pictures fool you. She is under 45lbs. She is fully vetted and ready for adoption!

Buddy

We have a very special dog for you to meet. His name isn't unique or outstanding but his story and his personality certainly are! This is Buddy. Buddy arrived into foster care 12/7/24. No, thats not a typo. Buddy has been in foster care for over a year. He was 6mo old when we got him and sadly, Buddy had Anaplasmosis. Anaplasmosis; also known as tick borne disease; caused Buddy to have dangerously low platelet counts. He was one of those special babies we just wanted to wrap in bubble wrap to keep him safe but Buddy had other plans. He wanted to dog. He wanted to play. He wanted to run with his foster siblings. Carefully and under the very watchful eye of his foster mom; he did! Buddy got to be a dog. Buddy has fought to get healthy for a year. A year of prednisone and sometimes other meds when he had complications to be healthy enough to safely neuter and live a normal life. Buddy WON!! He took his meds like a champ and he learned every day! We are ecstatic to say Buddy is finally healthy! His blood counts have held without the meds!! On the outside he looks like a normal dog. Ok, maybe a little chunky but prednisone does that. On the inside he's steel from fighting his hard won battle. Buddy is officially ready to find his forever!! Here's what's most important to know about Buddy's future forever home. He's a very determined boy who needs a home that can not only set but maintain boundaries!! This is non-negotiable for him. He's a big boy and sometimes stubborn. Buddy is good with other dogs of all sizes. Buddy is very gentle when taking treats from children, when hes told to and his boundaries are in place. Cats are a hard no. Buddy is house trained and pretty good on a leash. He does still pull but he didn't get much practice as a pup because of his health issues. It was to risky to expose him to potential bites ect. When Buddy came to us his counts were so low that trimming a nail to short could be life threatening so he wasn't taken for many walks. He will need practice. Buddy is an amazing dog and has fought so hard to get to this point. He deserves the world!! Buddy does get along easier and faster with women than men but he loves everyone. Buddy is a special case. But he will forever be your Buddy if you let him.

Upcoming additions

This section is dedicated to the dogs and cats we will have arriving into foster care in the coming future! There aren't many details but stay tuned for when they are ready for adoption!

GSD/PYR Mix

This little girl was surrendered to a shelter in a different state. The hard working volunteers there shared her with us and we were able to find her a foster home! She will most likely travel to us in February 2026.

5 males 1 female

These pups were found abandoned in a neighboring state. Fortunately they made it to rescue. They were 5 weeks old when they were found. They currently have ringworm and are going thru treatment. They will need foster/foster to adopt homes once they are medically clear and old enough to be seperated from their siblings.

Foster homes needed

Animals pictured after this section are in need of foster placement. If you see one you are willing to foster please email us at happypaws402@gmail.com for a foster application. Or fill out the foster application on our website and submit it to the above email address.

Matty

Remember Matty? The young male with the embedded chain and rope? He still hasn't found a foster home to welcome him after his long travel. He is around 1 year old. Matty will be arriving to us on 12/13/25. Please help us find foster or foster to adopt placement for him!

PENNY JEAN

***COURTESY POST. NOT IN OUR CARE**** I write this with tears in my eyes...... Penny Jean Around 1 year old. Sweet baby who wants to snuggle non stop. Lots of energy, (puppy life in her is strong) She will kiss you with her extremely long tongue. And she will snuggle you in bed. But she wants to know that she's you're only dog/animal love. She needs a little more training and guidance, as she gets too excited and she likes to play hard... so no kids in the house. She is not cat friendly, she will chase them. My ideal home for her would be where she is the only animal, with a single guy or single woman or a couple to love her. Please TEXT her mom at 402-350-8794

****COURTESY POST ONLY**** NOT IN OUR CARE Meet Eddie! He is a beautiful boy, who loves to play outside, and also snuggle up inside with his favorite people for a nap. He is well behaved and does not tear anything apart in the house. He loves to play with his own favorite toys, like tug o'war, fetch, ball, or chewing on toys that are good to chew on. He loves to go on walks and see everything that there is to see (and smell!). He enjoys car rides. He is so good with kids, even those who might have some special needs. He would be happiest with a fenced in yard or area to play in. He is friendly towards other animals and people. He would love to find his perfect forever home, as he has unfortunately been moved around in the past. He would love to meet you and be your new best friend! 🐺 Please contact his current caregiver at (402) 217-6880 Eddis is in need of a new home due to complex medical issues for the humans he is currently with and the human's allergies.

Chloe

**Courtesy Post Only. NOT in our care** Chloe's owner passed away and is she finds herself in need of a new home. Chloe is a pitbull/boxer mix, 10 years old. Not cats (which is why family is unable to take her). She has gotten along with other dogs, just not one of the 5 that she was living with in a temporary home. (A family friend took her but had 5 dogs, we think she was overwhelmed from going to a single dog home to a multi dog home) right after my dad passed. She is a lover, likes exercise, playing, and sleeping in. When she lays down, she lays with her back legs out, it’s cute. Chloe is frightened by thunder and fireworks so takes Trazadone to help soothe her fear (she may still crawl under the bed where she feels safe). Chloe is potty trained, can sit, lay down. She is also up to date on all vaccinations. Please contact her current careteaker at 402)314-0601
